← All guidesHow to plan a Europe city break from the US (without losing a week to tabs)

Flights, city order, and neighborhoods — a framework that keeps 7–9 days feeling like a trip, not a transit marathon.
Most first Europe trips from the US go sideways the same way: four cities in nine days, a red-eye that lands you useless until noon, and a hotel that looked perfect online but sits forty minutes from where you actually want to walk.
Start with one anchor — Lisbon, Barcelona, or Paris work well for first-timers — and add at most one more stop. Two cities in 7–9 days almost always beat four cities you’ll only remember from the train windows.
Open-jaw tickets (in one city, out another) often cost little more than a round trip and save a full travel day. We check that gap before locking anything.
Neighborhood matters more than star rating. Food-focused trips want different bases than museum trips. Tell us how you travel and we’ll match the lodging to the days, not the brochure photos.
When you’re ready, send dates and a rough budget on WhatsApp. You’ll get two clear route options — not a homework assignment of forty open tabs.
