← All guidesLisbon in three days: a pacing framework that still breathes
2026-07-16 · 7 min read
Belém, historic hills, and modern Oriente — sequenced so you are not racing every miradouro.
Three days in Lisbon works if you stop trying to do every viewpoint. Anchor each day in one geography, walk the hills once, and leave flex for pastel de nata stops that are not a scavenger hunt.
Day 1 — Belém and the river
Jerónimos, the Discoveries monument, and Belém Tower before crowds peak. Cross to Cristo Rei for the wide city view if skies cooperate. End near Cais do Sodré with a covered market dinner.

Day 2 — Baixa, Chiado, Alfama
- Praça do Comércio and Rua Augusta as your flat warm-up
- Carmo ruins and Santa Catarina for skyline without fighting every elevator queue
- Alfama lanes and São Jorge Castle late afternoon when light softens
- Sé and an optional fado evening if energy remains
Day 3 — Eduardo VII to Oriente
Walk Parque Eduardo VII into Avenida da Liberdade, then metro to Oriente for Parque das Nações architecture and the Oceanário if you want a long indoor finish.
If a day frees up, Sintra is the classic add-on — we only slot it when legs and weather cooperate.
